But getting into the best shape of your life takes a lot of hard work, dedication and a passionate trainer like Burwell who seeks out some of the most interesting (and let’s be honest, intense!) exercises in the world to keep his clients’ workouts fresh and fun.  No doubt his roots in boxing and martial arts had something to do with this unique ab exercise.  “This is the secret stuff no one ever really sees” said Burwell while showing Bombshell Bride this exercise at the New York City photo shoot.

Not only will your abs, back and every part of your core get an amazing workout, but your partner’s will too!

Flat Belly Secret Weapon

1. Lie next to your partner on the floor. Your head should be about at their knees.

2. Bend your knees slightly so that your partner’s hand can reach under your knees and grab your outside hand for support. (figure 1).

3. Slowly raise your legs in the air high enough so the first few vertebrae of your lower back are raised off the floor. (figure 2)

4. With control, swing your hips to the opposite side of your partner (figure 3)

5. Slowly lower your legs to the opposite side of your partner.  For advanced exercisers, try to keep your feet 2 inches off the ground (don’t let them touch!). Then begin the exercise again from the other side.

Try performing this intermediate/advanced exercise 5 times on each side, that’s 10 total, and work your way up to 15 on each side.
