Jennifer Aniston’s Yoga Instructor Shares Three Get-Healthy Secrets
Fitness guru Mandy Ingber gives brides three tips for losing weight and loving exercise.
Jennifer Aniston has one of the most enviable bodies in Hollywood, and she relies on Mandy Ingber to maintain those lean legs and flat abs (even flying her to NYC from LA). But it only takes a minute of talking with the celeb trainer to realize sun salutations aren’t the only thing earning Ingber that indispensability status.

Celebrity trainer Mandy Ingber recommends focusing on what you're gaining from a healthy lifestyle.
Equal parts enthusiasm and centered calm, Ingber immediately made me feel more positive and ready to take on the world. And while most of us are never going to get Jen’s bod, real brides can use Ingber’s wedding diet and fitness tips to make their healthy lifestyle journey more enjoyable every step of the way. Here are three tips Ingber shared with Bombshell Bride on maintaining and inspiring a healthy lifestyle.
Focus on what healthy eating and exercise gives you.
Let’s be honest: Losing weight and staying thin isn’t easy for most of us. Going for a workout while your fiancé hangs out on the couch, saying no to fatty comfort foods, and making do with a Pelligrino while everyone else is sipping their second crantini is enough to make anyone a little cranky. It’s true that when you want to change your body, there are certain sacrifices you have to make, says Ingber, but you can switch your mindset to make it much easier.
To do that, focus on what you’re getting rather than on what you’re losing. You know that thin feeling you get from eating just enough to satisfy? Or that internally toned quality you get from doing yoga or pilates? Or that emotional catharsis you get from a run or a kickboxing class? Those things feel good. And concentrating on those benefits goes a long way towards making your healthy lifestyle an enjoyable journey, rather than drudgery or restriction. “It’s all about framing,” she says. “I think about what I am getting instead of what I am sacrificing.”

When it comes down to it, a healthy lifestyle is a lot like getting married, Ingber points out. In getting married, you’re giving up certain benefits of a single life, but you’re gaining so much more, she says. And by choosing healthy eating and exercise, you’re choosing to feel better in your skin, to be stronger and more energetic, and to reinforce your self-esteem with good self-care. “I like to come from a place of, how am I going to feel?” says Ingber. “I’m going to feel better about myself, I’m going to feel healthier—this is good for me.”
